Loading QuickBooks 09 backup onto QB08 software

My Bookkeeper (former) was keeping my records on QB09. I have the backup files from her with my company books on them, but I personally own QB Pro '08 ...

I have read the reviews and upgrade information on the '09 version, and do not see the need to upgrade based on the new software features alone ....

So my question is; Can I load the backup that came from my Bookkeeper who was using the QB '09 software onto my QB '08 version ?? ... .. or am I stuck having to do an upgrade .. ?? ...

I have not tried to load the backup. I guess I didn't think to just give it a try before inquiring if it would work ...... duh ..
