Loading driver for DVD in Toshiba Laptop with Vista

by SHADRACH7 / December 9, 2008 11:06 AM PST

Vista won't load the driver on my Toshiba laptop. I look for a new driver and I get the message that the best driver is already installed.

DVD drivers are included with XP, Vista so when people ask for this it's usually for another reason such as playing Video DVD or recording to media.

Tell a little more.

This sounds more like the old Upper and Lowerfilters issue. Microsoft has NOT issued a Vista version of the article but its what I use to resolve most missing CD/DVD drive issues in Vista. Here's the link ->

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
