When i had this problem it wouldnt advance before i loaded the chipset drivers for the motherboard with the 'have disk' option at setup. That was the only driver i needed but i concluded that all the drivers included with vista on the dvd are totally useless. I would get all the drivers for your machine before insalling.
I have a Dell 9100 system and want to install Vista Ultimate, but I have a problem. After the initial boot and click it on 'install vista' icon, i get this popup and I really need some help for this because I spent hours to pass it but I am not getting anywhere. Here is the message.
Load Driver
A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash driver, please insert it now.
Note: if the windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step.
So I think that since the vista DVD is in the drive I thought I can skip.
It says I have load drivers. I just do not get this. I thought I install the drivers after the vista. and how come I DVD drive driver is missing after the system recognizes the disk already? What is goin on?
I appreciate any help at this moment? Am I doing something wrong here?
