LnXXa650 touch pad lights

Feb 9, 2009 11:50PM PST

I know that the touch pads on the lower right of the screen don't light up--- but why -- you can barely see them.I went to BB and confirmed that the lnXXa650 series do not light up.But the 750 630 and the plasma pn50a650 do light up. I just purchased the lcd and it has a prodution date of 10/20/2008 with firmware 2008.9
also I live in Canada and the I link only displays U.S.A news and weather. 1st-- are the lights on the touch pads there ( is it just a firmware update to activate them?) 2nd is there going to be a firmware update for a Canadian I-link weather and news?

650 GUY,

Welcome to the forum!

The touch pads on the television don't light up, and aren't designed to. There's no light behind them. The idea was to be consistent with the aesthetics, and that was the design that was implemented. It is hard to see - which in your case is bad because you want to see them - but in a different way good because it hides what are normally distracting or noticable buttons.

At this time, I'm not exactly sure what is going on with InfoLink in Canada. From what I understand, several news organizations that were providing the InfoLink whether and other information are not doing so. I'm working with our service guys in Canada to find out the details, but as of right now, I just don't know yet.

But I know that I saw the pnXXa650 plasma with the lite up touch controls. Why would the plasma 650 have it and the lcd's not?

650 GUY,

I've wondered that myself. I have no specific answer.
