trt123,
It sounds like that input could be the cause of a softer picture. Does any HDMI input look good on that one specific input? If not, you might want to get the unit looked at while it's under warranty.
Just a suggestion.. but keep me posted!

I've had my 46" TV for over a year with no issues. Have presently switched to a 10ft DVI-HDMI connection vs previous component cables from my HD (Bell) digital satellite box. The PQ of HD channels seems less clear and crisp than with component - somewhat softer, less focused and more pixelated and certainly too my eye a diminished picture. I'm using the HDMI input#1 as suggested in the manual for DVI-HDMI connections from cablebox/dvd etc. The DVI-HDMI cable was not expensive ($12 CDN made by Techcraft), but I've read and seen firsthand enough to believe that overpriced cables are not necessary for excellent PQ.
When I first was tinkering with the new cable setup I accidently plugged the male end of the DVI-HDMI end of the cable into the side HDMI #2 input of the TV, and the HD channels were just fantastic. At that point I toggled between component input and the HDMI (but with no audio) signal and there was no question about the superiority of the DVI-HDMI cable. I've tried adjusting picture settings on the TV and box and nothing seems to work to clean up the picture. As well, I've used the HDMI input #2 with blue ray player and HD videocam before and have had a superb picture, could it be just this one HDMI #1 input that's the problem? Any suggestions or recommendations??? Thanks!
