Question

lnk extentions won't open

Sep 4, 2012 3:01AM PDT

Some time during the night the Gremlins somehow got to another HP Pavilion w/Vista Home Basic that resides across the room.It was working fine last night but now is having problems in that some file extensions have somehow changed to .lnk.I don't know what they were before, a couple that are affected is Windows Mail and System Restore.I can't open these files.I have tried following some instruction/fixes off the web but get bogged down as they are to general in nature for me.

Looking for some help in resolving this issue .

TIA

It just seems to be a blank wall. what about if I reload the OS right in on top of the old install would that fix it?

I guess I'd lose all the shortcuts wouldn't I?
