Some backlight bleeding can be detected usually when the panel is on "Dynamic" settings. If you adjust your set using Standard or Movie mode and still see it, and you adjust it out, and your remaining picture still doesn't look right, I'd suggestion having a technician come out and take a look.
If it's a problem for you, then I'd consider it a problem. In many cases, it has been fixed.

Just bought this TV and have noticed backlight bleeding around the edges. I've tried turning the backlight setting down. Is this a normal problem and can it be fixed?
