LN52A750 Picture setting keeps resetting!

by koshia / September 6, 2008 1:46 AM PDT

I just bought this new beautifully designed and well equipped TV, but I am now running into a problem where when I watch a movie on HDTV cable channel and I custom set the settings for that movie. While the movie plays, the settings will reset back to it's original Dynamic style. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, does this TV not have PIP for two cable/tv channels as apposed to two sources?

There are articles describing what you have presented. Your TV is set to STORE MODE. When you turned your TV on for the 1st time it should have asked you to select HOME USE setting. The STORE mode setting is what Samsung initially sets all their TV's and is used by stores on their displays so that when a Customer changes settings, in so many minutes, the TV resets Back to the STORE MODE...which is the Dymanic. If you read your Manual it will outline the procedures to follow to re-set the TV to HOME USE\MODE.

Do you fine the picture on your TV TOO bright? I do on my LN46A550....I am not sure its not as a result of watching darker TV's dosplays for years.....or its just SamSungs settings...I normally use Standard with the Factory defaults

Okay I got it revert back again. Thank you for your help. I missed the part about the SHOP mode in the manual and I was not there when the TV powered on first :(. In any case, the directions in the manual is a little unclear as well, so for anyone that runs into this thread the procedure is below:

a.) Power your TV ON
b.) Press the channel button and go to any channel
c.) Press the Volume (+) or (-) key
d.) While holding the volume key, press & hold Menu for 10 seconds.
c.) Let go of the Volume key
d.) YOU SHOULD SEE a message saying "STANDARD".

If this fails, retry the steps again. Also I suggest using the Volume (-) key because you are holding onto it.

On another note, does anybody know how to activate PIP when you're watching regular cable? As apposed to activating PIP during another source. Also, PIP only works with two different sources as apposed different channels?

How to reset 'store demo' mode on Samsung LN52A750 LCD TV
by RupDawg / July 8, 2009 1:41 AM PDT
In reply to: Thanks!

I found this thread searching for instructions to reset the 'store demo' mode to 'home use'. But no matter how I tried, the instructions below did not work on my LN52A750 TV. Then I googled all over... none of the tips helped either. The Samsung manual did not have a glossary that I could search for 'store demo' with and eyeballing the entire manual would've been an arduous task. So I downloaded the soft copy of the manual from Samsung support, did an Adobe Acrobat string search and found the instructions. Here is the excerpt from the manual for the benefit of others in the same position (my comments in parenthesis). This is from the section titled 'Operation -> Plug & Play Feature' on pg. 14:

If the unit is accidentally set to "Store Demo" mode and you want to return to "Home use" (Standard)-
1. Press the volume button on the TV (Not the remote, you have to do this on the TV! The bezel has touch sensitive basic controls on the left bottom corner that lights up when you touch it).
2. When the volume OSD (on screen display) is displayed, press and hold the MENU button on the TV for 5 seconds. (Unlike the previous instruction, you don't press volume and MENU at the same time, rather one after the other)

Thanks so much for this, it suddenly happened today and it was driving me nuts because everything was fine up till now. Turns out i had my fingers on the stupid touch-sensitive buttons while moving the tv to clean behind it.
