PeanutLM,
Often times, when a color isn't present, it may be as simple as the RBG not being hooked up to RBG. (Please double check to make sure the color connections are the same on both sides).
The other easy fix is to check the cable - if you have two component cables (or can borrow one), check to make sure you get the same issue with a different cable.
The next thing you might try is testing your components on a different television set to make sure the sources is sending, in your case, the red colors.
After that, it may be the connection on the television at fault, in which case, it can be serviced.
Keep me posted.

just brought home the samsung LN52A750. it looked great in the store and have read numerous reviews about the high quality image. the problem i'm having is when i connected the TV using component cables, the image is lacking any red tones. i have adjusted the calibration and played around with the color settings. i hooked the TV up using an HDMI cable and the color, incuding red, works great. not sure why the red color is missing with the component hook up. the component cable feeds from my sony receiver feeding signals from my blu-ray and cable box. this is the existing set-up form the previous TV so i know it all works. is it the TV or something else?
