LN52A750 audio problem

Apr 6, 2009 2:48PM PDT

I have the tv connected by coax cable directly to wall jack. I am getting a "resonance/reverberation" type of sound or hum with speech when listening to internal speakers only. No problems with external receiver/speakers only. This problem occurs with most, but not all, programs and does not resolve with changes to audio settings. The problem also seems to be independent of channel. It's as if a certain tone of voice induces the problem. I read on another forum about "robotic" sounding audio problems that required resetting tv but this also didn't help. Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated.

Only with speech

Thank you for the tip. The ground at the box outside is intact and there is no noise without a signal. The problem I'm having is only with speech, like in a news broadcast or documentary. I don't notice it otherwise. It is not constant. As I mentioned, it seems to occur with a certain tone or pitch of voice (more frequently with men). I've tried the different pre-programmed audio settings with no success. I've also turned trusurround on/off and even manually set the eq, also with no success.

spntop,

Well, that whittles it down to either the broadcast signal itself, or the television. You might try to see if your cable/sat company might come out and see if they can diagnose it. If they can't find an issue, it may very well be the television. If that's the case, we can service the unit and if that's the issue, it should be fixed.

Does that help?

I just so happen to be switching companies on Monday. We'll see if the change solves the problem. If not, maybe the installer can do some trouble shooting to make sure it's not the cable signal/wiring. I'll let you know how it goes. Thank you again for your help.

spntop,

Well, THAT is a lucky co-incidence! Happy

Definitely keep me posted. I'm curious to know how this turns out.
