LN52A650 Wide Fit Picture

Mar 15, 2009 9:18AM PDT

When watchin a station that is not HD, i usually put it on wide fit picture format. I noticed this just today but there is still a black bar that runs down the rightside of the screen. The top bottom and left are filled to the edge with picture, it looks almost as if the screen is shifted to the left a inch or so. Is my screen off centered? Is this normal? any help is appreciated.

TruSorrow,

If that only happens on the cable box and not with, say, widescreen format DVDs, then it's probably the cable box or the signal parameters sent from the cable company.

Keep me posted.

I tried playing a widescreen format dvd and it played fine. So it would seem to be a problem with the cable box. Does that mean i need a new box, or is that something that is fixable by the cable company?

TruSorrow,

It may be something that the cable company can set remotely. Try giving them a call, and note that you've isolated it to the box. If not, a box change-out may be necessary.

Keep me posted.
