LN52A650 screen burn in

Dec 23, 2008 9:10AM PST

My TV was on when I left for work and my wife not knowing how to turn it on or off turned of the cable box instead and left the TV on for at least 9 hours. The screen stayed barely lit all day. Will that hurt the screen in any way? Thanks for your input in advance.

LN52A650 audio question
Dec 23, 2008 11:52PM PST

Thank you so much for the reply! I was so worried because we just got the TV. Otherwise the TV is great. Beautiful picture and with some EQ adjustments I was able to get a decent sound out of the built in speakers. However, there is a 100-200ms delay when I connect the audio output to my receiver. Unfortunatley I only have RCA connectors so I'm not sure, but if I had a receiver with optical connections; would that take care of the problem?

Could be....

fenderaxe,

Happy to help!

Yes, the optical would likely take care of the problem. The television speakers are getting the sound from a digital amplifier. The RCA audio will usually delay the signal an insignificant amount when that’s all you’re listening to (in other words, you won't notice it). RCA is analog, so the conversion itself will cause a bit of a delay when going from digital to analog - which is the cause.

Digital signal to speakers: Digital
Digital signal via optical: Digital
Digital signal via RCA cable: Digital to Analog + conversion = slight delay with first two options when listening simultaneously.

Thanks for your kind words, and have a great Holiday Season!
