LN52A650 HD picture quality

by cleoecho / January 29, 2009 9:53 AM PST

I must be missing something.....All my research for my new purchase led to this model. Bought it, hooked up Blu-Ray (CARS) and was BLOWN AWAY by the picture quality. Then, 3 days later, comcast came to install my "triple play". The HD channels are in the 700's. Heres my dilemma......the HD channels are not that much better than the regular channels. How can this be? Is there a setting on the TV that I have not activated??? What am I missing?

What kinds of cables are you using?
by newzguy53 / January 29, 2009 12:03 PM PST

Are you running a HDMI cable from your hd cable box to your 650? If not are you at least running component cables?

I assume you did not run the comcast coax cable directly to your 650, but instead directly to your hd cable box...

Try getting into the setup menu for your cable box and check all available settings.

There should be a very big difference between standard broadcast channels and hd channels. Mine are in the low to mid 800 range in terms of channels...

cleoecho,

The settings in the cable box should be reflecting a high resolution from the box to the television.
