What issue are you experiencing that requires a firmware upgrade?

Also, which country are you inquiring from?

Same problem with LA40A610 purchased in Israel
Feb 8, 2009 9:28PM PST

Hi,
I also don't see the SW Upgrade option in the setup menu.

I purchase my set two months ago and been having bad picture quality issues with my local cable provider (HOT) with SD and HD broadcasts.

I've had my set replaced for a small defect in the panel but the viewing quality remained the same (bad).
I've also had my set tweaked by a Samsung technician which noted: "It looks as bad as it looks for everyone, especially in sports broadcasts".

The nature of the problem is a pixalized fog which appears around moving objects and is especially apparent when there is a camera panning motion.
When the camera pans the picture becomes completely blurred and takes up to 2 seconds to regain sharpness.
Camera pans are most frequent in sports (football) matches and movies.

I've tried 3 different HDMI cables with no apparent effect.

I'd now like to try the firmware upgrade, but as the option is missing in the setup menu, I don't know how to continue.

Thanks for your help!

Amnon.

Apparently not available...

Guys,

I don't know why firmware releases aren't available for all markets, but that does seem to be the case.

However, in the case of the picture losing sharpness, often times that limitation is inherent with HD, particularly due to the compression of the broadcast signal.

I don't have worldwide resources, but Samsung.com (+ your country) would definitely be able to address those answers better than I can.

I wish I had a better answer, but that's what I have.
