richter35,
Sorry to hear that you can't access your HDMI ports. I'm really at a loss as to why that would be. However, the good news is that a firmware update will reload the entire system. So updating the firmware will reset everything (including calibrations, for future reference) and probably give you full functionality of your HDMI ports.
The new firmware is 2007.0 and can be obtained here:

Keep me posted!

I cannot see the connection for the HDMI choice in the source list in the menu options. I am not on preset modes like "entertainment" which might grey out choices. Since I cannot select HDMI,the picture choice of "Just Scan or Wide Screen are not available and are greyed out. The LN46a650 is connected to a Scientific American 8300HD DVR on the Cablevision system.
Any help would be appreciated greatly. I would like to eventually calibrate the tv once I get the connections properly set up. Also, the TV, which I purchased a couple of weeks ago is on firmware 2400. I believe the current firmware is 2700. Does this make a difference?
Thanks in advance for your advice,
George
