General discussion

LN40N8 and digital cable tv

Aug 25, 2009 5:00AM PDT

Hi everybody,

Reading the manual makes me a little confused.

About the antenna connector, it reads,
An outdoor aaerial - A cable television network - A satellite network.

Does this mean that I can connect my coax cable with a digital television signal? Do I need the cam connector also?

My second question is what about the satellite network, what can I connect on that, mu lnb???

Thanks in advance

rvamerongen,

I'm not familiar with this model. Is this a U.S. product?

rvamerongen,

Yes, I work for Samsung in the U.S. I can usually answer questions regarding a good portion of our product lines, but I'm not familiar with the LE40N8.

If you can reference your country, I can take a look at the manuals and see if I can assist. If you have co-ax cable, then it can plug into the antenna, but I'm not sure what "mu lnb" or "cam connector" is.

If you'd like, you can also call the Samsung Customer Service center in your region, and they also can assist with inquiries - and may be more helpful than I may be able to be. But I'll give it a try if you'd like.

Thanks for your reply.

I live in the netherlands.

My TV has a CAM card connector, but I can't find any text in the manual about it. Also I am curious about the antenna conection, and I would like to know if I can also connect digital tv coax cable on that same connection.

Thanks you again

rvamerongen,

I wish I had some answers on that, but I'm not sure what tuner capabilities or card connectors are being used in products in the Netherlands region. However, there is a Samsung Customer Service center in the Netherlands, and they can probably speak a whole lot better on the features than I can, and should be able to assist you. I really would help if I could, I'm just not familiar with the standards in that region.

You can reach them at 0900-SAMSUNG or 0900-(726-786-4).
