Question

ln40a530p1fxza wont turn on

Jul 31, 2011 11:59PM PDT

My husband and I have this 40 lcd for about 2 years and it won't turn on I have unplugged it from it's own power source for 5 mins and it does the same thing makes 2 beep notes that it was like it's trying to turn on and it keeps repeating itself. I would like to know what to do. We couldn't afford the extended warranty.

Clarification Request
42in Samsung TV.
Aug 6, 2015 7:28PM PDT

It is not accepting any of my channels. I have factory reset it it numerous amount of times and when I do it it will only show all the channels for like 10 seconds and let it only saves the three channels I scrolled onto. So if anyone knows how to completely, and I mean completely. reset your whole TV where you can have all your channels without it deleting on you please please let me know thank you

The full model that this topic is about is a 40 inch. So any procedure to edit channels won't apply.

Also, any reset removes channels from what I see and there is no undo. This may set you off or make you mad but it would be good to try anyway. But tagging this to an old discussion about a different model may not get the exposure you wanted. Many folk don't read old posts.

Answer
Did you try calling Samsung

I read a few posts on this board implying that Samsung is fixing some "TV won't turn on" issues outside of the warranty period. I would give them a call and see what they say.

I know exactly what the problem is.

OK. This is what the problem is. I have the exact same tv and have experienced the exact same problem with mine. As a matter of fact, i am going through it for the second time as i write this now. About a year ago, our tv did the same thing. I called samsung, and explained what the tv was doing. At that point they advised me that it was no longer under warranty. However, For this issue i was entitled to a one time free repair. I'm now realizing that they have obviously been having problems with this particular tv. So they had me call their repair office (it was a sub-contractor pro-tronic i beleive the name is) and set up a time to come to my house. The guy showed up on time and was very quick about making the repair. You should know that the problem with our tv was a blown capacitor on an 8 by 8 inch circit board that i did see for myself. He all ready had the replacement board in his tool pouch when he came to the door. It took about 15 mins start to finish to replace. Worked great Happy For about 2 months! ***? Same crap. Won't come on. I was P#ssed off! I called again just today, and this time i have to pay for it. I won't know how much until i talk to the repairman when he calls. But believe this. I WILL be expecting at least a year warranty for the repair. Because who's to say this won't happen again in another month? You should do the same especially for the parts cost. Because they obviously used crappy parts to do my repair. Here is their number to call. 1-800-samsung. Make sure you have the model # and serial # when you call. Good luck to you.
