LN32A450 sound cuts out on channel change

Feb 27, 2009 7:36AM PST

I've been searching around for an answer to this with no avail. Just purchased last week a LN32A450 for the bedroom. When I change channels on cable channels, when the little box that displays the channel information goes away, the sound cuts out for about a half second. Does not do this on over the air HD/digital channels, only on the cable channels. I have the cable connected directly to antenna in and using the built in speakers in surround sound mode. Anyone know a way around that? Thanks.

Authenticating...
Feb 27, 2009 9:33AM PST

It's probably the cable box authenticating the HDCP (copy protection) measure for a different channel.

I'm not sure there's a way around it, and there's not a way to disable the channel box at the top.

I have the cable feed direct in, no box. Has anyone else had this issue?

Suggestion...

geddy3,

Ahh, I should have deducted that. My apologies.

Try holding down the exit button on the remote and pressing "yes" for reset. This will reset the television, and may solve the issue. (Tho, you'll have to reset your picture and audio settings, as those will go to out-of-the-box default).

Keep me posted.

I tried the reset but the issue is still there. Hopefully someone else has seen this before and may have a suggestion.

Digital decode

I can't help but wonder if it's just the television decoding the digital signals through the coax.

Does anyone else have this issue?

yes i do

I have the ln32a540 hooked up to straight cable.
It seems to do it changing analog channels. It's
a little bothersome but at least the channels
change quickly. The 26" sharp i returned for this
changed the channels real slow. I have a ln32a450
but it's hooked up to a cable box.
