mikef72380,
I'd like to escalate this issue on your behalf if I may.
Do you have a Transaction number from the call?

I've had this tv about a year and a half and like most folks have experienced HDMI issues. Five days after I bought the set I had a repair tech out. I hadn't used HDMI again until this week. I hooked a PS3 up and it began flashing green and losing the signal to display "mode not supported" every so often. I read on several forums including this one that a firmware update was the cure, so I went ahead and downloaded the latest firmware from Samsungs website. The update went fine and said the tv would turn off in 3 seconds and come back on. It didn't and won't turn back on. I've unplugged the set, switched power outlets, and still nothing. Samsung is using the excuse that its out of warranty and won't cover it. They even said that applying the firmware can damage the TV and wouldn't acknowledge this forum as offical. I'm not really keen on shelling out $100 for a service call and potentially much more for a fix when it seems like a simple firmware update shouldn't cause catastrophic failure to the set. Does anyone have any ideas to get it back up and running?
