That's no backup then.
The only place these mails could be in, I think, is the Temporary Internet Files. But I doubt it.

ok, im prepared to open myself up to ridicule in a last ditch effort to solve my problem...
i have an old hotmail account which ive used for years, and i thought i would be kinda smart and back up some semi-important emails. so i installed windows livemail on my PC (vista OS) and d/loaded the specific folder i was interested in. All good, the emails appeared in my livemail.
I closed livemail and went back to hotmail.
I then (for whatever stupid reason) deleted them from hotmail, and also emptied the deleted items! I know, i know, why? no need! etc etc.
I thought 'its fine, they are all safely downloaded on my PC, i can archive them and back them up etc.
of course, as soon as i opened up livemail again, it syncs up..... and the emails are gone
so i was wondering - the emails were downloaded, and therefore there might be a temp file somewhere? i looked in the appdata file and there are some log files and a db file. I also have fired up undeletemyfiles, and is has pulled up some log files. but is there a specific place i should look, or a file extension to keep an eye out for?
thanks for any helpful advice!
