live mail first e mail downloads

I recently installed Live Mail to a new desktop. E Mails continue to download from previous months. Is there a way to set a limit on these mail uploads?

Hey mate...
Windows Live has nothing to do with a new or old computer.. You have not provided any specifications about the OS you are using...

after a download of 2000 former e mails, the backlog gave up. windows live mail is alive and well and running smoothly.

Synchronization settings

I am a newbie at this program, but if you right click on "all Mail" one of the options is synchronization settings. One of the selections you can choose is "new messages only".
