Such as they have an Apple and your mail encoding is not good enough for their email to their email servers strip attachments (common for work places.)

Could be, but the thing is, these are family and I have sent other emails and have no trouble. Just sometimes they are empty and it is frustrating. Would Thunderbird have these problems? There are other problems I have with WL,such as, when I try to open an email that has been opened once or was deleted and is in my inbox again, I get an error saying" there has been a problem" and it won't open or delete. I have to drag it to the delete folder.

The only way to know is to test it.

You could also use the WEB interface to such emails and see if that avoids any email client software issues.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
