I have sent several mails to different people and have gotten the response from them, that there is nothing in them.Also several others I have replied to have been empty. What is going on and how do I fix it?I have windows 7

Could be too many things.

Such as they have an Apple and your mail encoding is not good enough for their email to their email servers strip attachments (common for work places.)

Could be, but the thing is, these are family and I have sent other emails and have no trouble. Just sometimes they are empty and it is frustrating. Would Thunderbird have these problems?There are other problems I have with WL,such as, when I try to open an email that has been opened once or was deleted and is in my inbox again, I get an error saying" there has been a problem" and it won't open or delete. I have to drag it to the delete folder.

The only way to know is to test it.

You could also use the WEB interface to such emails and see if that avoids any email client software issues.
