Listen through usb headset and speakers at the same time

I have a Microsoft LX 3000 USB headset and Boston BA635 speakers and would like to be able to listen to music through both of these things at the same time so that I can listen to things publicly and then mute and listen to the headphones unforunately in order to swith audio devices I have to restart what ever music software I am using this is a problem in both Win Media Player and iTunes any help would be appreciated!
