List of Crappications

Hey Guys,
This is a chance for you to air out your frustrations about crappications that you use or have used. You may ask, what is a crappication? Well, kids, a crapplication is a piece of software that is sheer hell for you to use (Windows Me), it may constantly cause system issues, or just didn't work for you at all.

Jumped the Shark

In reply to: List of Crappications

I'm not sure I've come across too many apps that were pure crap to begin with but I've seen several good applications jump the shark over the years.

Aldus Freehand. It used to be my favorite (with a bullet) vector drawing program (over Adobe Illustrator) but by the time it got into Macromedia's hands, it was a painfully slow bloated mess.

Adobe Premiere is another such. Actually, it just rotted on the vine while everybody else surpassed it.

Any version of Commotion after 2.1. It used to be AMAZING but rather than improve upon its painting tools to make it godlike, they tried to turn it into another After Effects and ruined it.

Pinnacle Systems Studio 7 and beyond

In reply to: Jumped the Shark

The term crashware comes to mind, or to quote my young daughter...."megasucky". Never, ever, in my life have I found a peice of software, costing so much (I paid over $120.00 for the super duper extra special version) that crashed so consistently. Ive installed it on no less than 5 machines, AMD, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, Creative, Turtle beach....about the entire range of possible system configurations over a few years, and I was never able to produce a video longer than 2 minutes, or make one without it crashing every 1-2 minutes of editing time (and no, Im not exagerating).

I hate to say this....I cant beleive Im going to say this, but alas, the Sony Screenblast (now known as vegas lite) is the most stable, and inexpensive video editor Ive found.......I feel so dirty.

Crappications company of the year: Ral and Norton

In reply to: List of Crappications

Real is really, really bad.

Also, ever tried to get rid of a Norton application? It's about as easy as getting rid of an ant infestation in a sugar factory. Can Clean Sweep sweep itself....? I think not.
