Has anyone got any information on creating a redhat boot cd with netbackup client installed for a DR test.

Any help would be great.

Sorry, it's just I'd like to know for certain before spending one minute on it. Also, the versions of Veritas and more.

At The moment it a plan, to get a boot cd with Redhat 3 AS on it with Veritas Netbackup Client 4.5 (so that I can restore any of the system I look after, I am struggling to find a pointer on the web.) I know BartPE will give me a winpe boot cd which I could try to add the netbackup client into however I would perfer to keep it in the linux faith. Applogies for not being specific. Any advice / pointer with creating a linux boot cd with networking and how to get an application rpm build into it would be great.

Unlikely. Here's why.

Veritas notes these OSes.

"Linux

Debian GNU/Linux 2.2r4, Kernel 2.0.36, RedHat 5.2, RedHat 6.2, RedHat 7.0, RedHat 7.1, RedHat 7.2, RedHat 7.3, RedHat Advanced Server 2.1, Redhat 8.0, SLES 8, SLES7, SuSe 7.0, SuSe 7.1, SuSe 7.2, SuSe 7.3, SuSe 8.0, SuSe 8.1, TurboLinux 7.0, VxOS"

Redhat 3 AS is missing. You need to call them and ask when it will happen.

Since it's missing, I can't see spending time on that one.

One crazy idea.

If you do find a client, I've been toying with a customized KNOPPIX BOOT CD with just my app starting up. I can't help you too much with changing to your selected app, but if it's some simple executable I'm sure you can create your own KNOPPIX.
