Mandriva Linux

I have installed Mandriva Linux on my Pavilion dv1000. Most of the stuffs work quite well. The only thing I cant get to work so far is the row of shortcut keys on top on the keyboard.

The other problem I am having is short battery life. I could only get 1hr plus on battery running linux as compared to 3 hrs on windows. If anyone could tell me y pls email me at kaizhao87@gmail.com

A good resource to read about different linux distros and how they compare under different environments is Distrowatch.com.

If you do a search for "HP pavilion dv1000" on linuxquestions.org you will find a few threads relevant to your question;

I would personally recommend debian sarge.
