Linux Forum Exceeds Window 8 Forum!

Dec 9, 2013 12:39AM PST
In this lineup of operating systems, I notice you do have all the windows systems together, but what occasioned Linux being placed at the bottom since it and Android are alphabetically ahead of Mac? Also noted is Linux has more threads than the following systems.

Android = 915

Mac OS classic = 61

Windows Mobile = 217

Windows 2000/NT = 1863

and last and also least is;

Windows 8 = 677

So, considering Linux beat Windows 8 on threads, also is earlier alphabetically, perhaps Linux should be at the top of that list? Happy

Needs a little more math.

Now take the number of years to bring that back to reason.

Since Linux has been out 10 years and Windows 8 only one, you can re-do the numbers and see the results.

PS. I have the wrong number of years for Linux. But using it's inception date would be too much of skew or skewer.
PPS. Some propose that Android should be considered Linux. As in the most successful Linux distro ever.

true, but....

Linux has 3.5 pages (about 90 posts) this year.

windows ME has 4 posts this year so far.

Windows NT & 2000 combined have 11 post this year.

windows 95/98 combined forum has a page (25 post?) plus 3 posts this year.

Mac OS Classic has 10 posts this year

Windows Mobile has less than a full page for this year. (maybe 20 posts?)

Mac OSX if ignoring some ancient stickies, has 12.5 pages this year. (325-340 post?)

Windows Vista has 10 pages this year (250 post approximately)

If Linux can't be moved up, maybe some those at least should be dropped? OSX & Vista is still current, so should also be saved.

Not my choice to make.

But we did see the "Popular Forums" list change last year. It's a slowly changing beast without any agenda. The problem I'm having with Android is even with its popularity folk ask a question and then you have to get the asker to tell you what app and then you discover there is no documentation so you can't state how to perform the function with authority.

What's up with that?

I work at an office with others porting Android apps and have been at this since pre-DOS. Look up the GE-210 for the computer I wrote my first code on.

I also own a Tracfone as well as have access to too many devices.
