You will get opinions that condemn Windows. I'm not that fond of Microsoft myself, sometimes, but it is a necessary evil. Basically, Windows is easier to use, but less secure.Linux is generally more secure, but harder to setup. You have to know more about your operating system. After setup, it is almost as straight-forward as Windows.
Many people dual-boot Windows/Linux. Hope this helps.

I agree with the previous response, its different.

You would need to define your requirements, because at some levels it is really superior to Windows, but in others it shows up like a system that has 6% market share vs. one that has over 90%.

Coming from a world in which Windows, UNIX and LINUX have to co-exist, each has some really nice features and none are so capable as to support every application need.

Price sure is right if you are deploying multiple systems.
