Linksys No interent on setup Help!

Hello, I have recently purchased the router: linksys WRT54GS UK Version 6, i have set up as instructed with my old modem pluged into the right place no luck (old modem, BT Voyager 205). I have tried end less time of connecting the ethernet ports in diffrent ways and 3 times it came on fluckly but i turned it off each time for some wierd reason! Last time i got it working i plugged the ethernet to my PC in port 3 and the thernet from the modem in port 4. Just to claify if i put the ehternet cable in the one it is designened for it dosnt work!

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=BT+Voyager+205&btnG=Google+Search finds the 205 is a router. As such you've done this...

Internet -> modem+router -> router.

This is a somewhat "expert" configuration in which you need to disable the router in the 205 or turn the Linksys router off and just configure it as a WAP.

Bottomline. It wasn't supposed to work without a lot more work and research.

Hello, i have found the ip routing configuration, is this what i need to change?? i have a:
1.) Network Address Translation (NAT) Configuration
2.) Domain Name Service (DNS) Configuration
3.) Bridge Configuration
4.) IP Route Table
5.) IP Address Table

In the NAT & the DNS i can disbale them, is one of the the right ones or am i looking for completely th wrong thing.

Try turning the modem/router into a bridge.

Then it's just a modem and your router does the router work.

Or turn the router/wifi into a plain WAP.

Go with which solution you can find in your manuals. I would read them but you need to supply me links to the manuals. Why? (you ask.) Because you get to do some work to help others help you.
