Linkstation not recognised on network

Jul 24, 2006 10:31PM PDT

Hi

I have just purchased a 300Gb Buffalo Linkstation. I followed the instructions to turn the power on then plug into my router (D-Link DSL 604)...the ACT light comes on fine (which indicates that it is getting a connection from the router)...but when I run the IP setup program from the supplied disk it does not recognise that there is a linkstation connected to my network.

I am not sure if this is a faulty linkstation unit, faulty linkstation software or perhaps even my router not being able to assign it an IP address.

Does nyone have nay suggestions?
