Links again

Hi - have finally found the so much talked about Yahoo formatting bar, on top the OUTGOING MESSAGES form only, and not elsewhere. Nobody told me that, probably assuming that this is where I should have looked for it in the first place. Now another problem remains: How do I make a link in messages such as this, on a forum, if I want to refer someone to a URL ? Can anyone help on that? Tx - Amos.

Or should this question go into the next forum, the one on communication and messaging? A.

How you post a link on a forum depends on the forum itself. For instance, some will have an option similar to that used by Yahoo! Mail, some use HTML, and some, like Cnet, use BBS coding. For a formatting guide here on Cnet, click here.

HTML:
<a href=''http://www.cnet.com''>Click Here</a>

BBS:
<url=http://www.cnet.com>Click Here</url>
** Note: For BBS, replace ''<>'' with ''[]''

Result:

Also:
If you simply paste the URL, http://www.cnet.com, it will automatically display as a link, but it looks nasty if the URL is a long one. Here on Cnet you must include "http://" if you want it to auto-hyperlink, though some forums only require "www.cnet.com", and yet others don't support auto-hyperlinking.

Hope this helps,
John
