Question

Linking my Technicolor 482 router to my Inspire dvr via rj45

Aug 22, 2016 12:45PM PDT

My router shows an unknown connection with a Pysical and an IP address. The ip address "pings" and is confirmed to be my CCTV DVR. The rj45 patch cable indicates an orange light at both the DVR and router end. All this and I cannot get a connection to the DVR showing the CCTV images. Can anyone help please.

What is this patch cable?

While I can't find make/model or all things the fact you used the word patch for the cable means it could be that. Try using a normal Ethernet cable.

Patch cable

Thanks for your reply
Ethernet (RJ45) cables come in two types. Patch and Crossover. The Patch cable is used when linked to a router and a Crossover when linked directly to a PC from a VCR.
As I have a patch cable I am linked to my router.

Manual
Aug 22, 2016 10:56PM PDT

Thanks for your efforts. I have read every page of the manual and cannot find a solution to my problem. I have rang the UK importer but they won't help as they are trade only. The man that fitted the system has since retired through ill health and other local approved engineers won't help as they only look after their own fitments. I suspect there is a "driver" somewhere !!!

No driver.

I found no driver in that document. Only that you could do some things over a web browser and to play content you had to have their player.

Here's my guess. You want to do something that's not in the manual. That means no, you can't do this.
