Question

Linking ga7900 with Visio S4251 sound bar

Oct 17, 2013 3:31AM PDT

I just got An LG GA 7900 hdtv, and for sound, a Visio S4251W-B4 space 5.1 soundbar. I like this sound bar and can report that 5.1 IS coming through with an optical hookup. (I would not recommend the cheap optical audio cable that Visio ships with the S4251, and am using a better one.)

Problem: when I go into sound settings and try to link the Vizio sound bar so that I can control its volume, etc, from the tv'so remote, Vizio is not even among the MANY options listed, to find a code that would work. I'm not keen on trying all 9,999 possibilities, and am not even sure I could, since you enter codes the system selects, according to companies that produce audio equipment, and don't enter the numbers yourself.). Is there some other company name whose products equate with Vizio? Is there any other way to do this?

I hope future updates to the ga7900 add Visio as an option, because for the price it is a great south bar, which offers full surround, via wireless speakers that sit behind the listener.
