linked windows will not open on web

Feb 26, 2004 4:12PM PST

i don't really know what other way to sum it up i was deleteing some programs an one of them took out soemthign important. basically whats happening is something that has to do with sites linking . For example when i signed up for this account i went to my e-mail and clicked the link to complete the account sign up process. an it opens a new window then the window doesn't fill in and it just sits there. if i get lucky which in this case i was and there is a tool bar then i can click "stop" then "refresh" and it will load. but sometimes somesites i dont get this chance. For example when i try to download at fileplanet it normally has the little window that comes up telling you your place in line well for me it brings up the small window never fills it in with anything and since it has no tool bar i cants "stop" and "refresh" it.

i don't know if oporating systems has anythign to do ith this but its 98 i think 2nd edidtion but not 100% maybe 1st editin.

i doenloaded a new copy of internet explorer and copied over my copy but this did not fix it. i know the problem is only scene during my web travels but i don't kow if its web related per se'

PLLEASE help me Wink

Well, if you start randomly deleting files and programs without a backup, and without leaving them in the recycle bin (so that you can get them back), you can get into trouble very well. And if you don't tell us what exactly you deleted, you won't get very good help neither.

Read through this post http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6618-0.html?forumID=6&threadID=12940&start=0 and see if it helps. But, really, damage done is damage done, I'm afraid.

Try doing a system restore, Go to your start menu & then go to all programs, select accessories then select system tools then select system restore. a calender should come up, choose the day before you did the program deletions. this will bring everything back & you can try again but, atleast you will have the capability to do hyperlinks again.
