Resolved Question

Link stick works now how do we browse the internet?

Sep 4, 2011 8:19AM PDT

I've been looking for an answer and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. We have a 2009 Samsung t.v. We just bought a Link Stick so that we could connect to the internet. We plugged in the stick and got it connected without any problem. But...now what do we do? How do we browse or get to Samsung Apps or whatever it is that we need to do to watch movies from the internet?

Re: Internet on TV

That really depends on the model of the TV. So I would start studying the user manual. If that doesn't help (sufficiently) post the model number here and see what the experts say about it.

In a 2009 TV 'Internet connectivity' could very well mean "You can download and install new firmware from Internet." In that case, buying a 2011 model (or 2012 model, available before the holiday season) Netflix compatible DVD-player is a quite good solution.

The model is LN 46B64RFXZA -if that helps. Unfortunately I can't find the manuel that goes with the t.v. We did find that we can get weather info, news, stocks, and one other thing but it's not what we were expecting.

But sets from that time didn't have a "browser" but apps that did what you noted.

Consider the LinkStick cost and compare it to the Logitech Revue as 99 bucks. I think you'll understand which is the better value.

Apart from the model number ...

and possibly your expectations nothing seems wrong here.

Once you know the correct model number, you should be able to find the user manual as a pdf somewhere on the Internet (using your PC or laptop!) to see if you missed something.

Thanks everyone for your input. I think we were expecting more than we should have. I think we're going to return the Link Stick and try something else. I appreciate everyones input.

Which model?

Very few have a web browser. And take my advice. Return the link stick and go get a Logitech Revue (99 bucks) and you'll get a great browser and more.
