Lines image in the viewfinder in SONY CCD-TR716

Only color lines shown in the viewfinder in Handyman CCD-TR71. I still can record and play back what I recorded. Sometines the viewfinder shows the picture I am aiming at but most of times only color lines. Any clue from anyone? Is it the switch probelm? Dirty head? or a picture chip? Please help. Thanks

A good technician might find a loose connection and fix it. But nothing most people dare get into.

The technician (and I) can't know the exact bad contact or such, but would take it apart, clean up the contacts and reassemble it. Again, not for any home owner I've met.

Do the lines appear just when playing back a tape or all the time, even while recording?

I have the same problem, I first noticed it when I put it in the trunk of my harley for rolling thunder. I guess the vibration was too much for it. Let me know if you figure it out.
