I rewound the program and watched the session again and I missed one sentence in it when I let the dog in where they said the Speaker of the House was on the plane with the President.
Not much left to say here.........sorry.
I'm really pissed off......I had to go on the internet to make sure I was right, and I am........
Watching a liberal tv show that aired last night called "Madame Secretary".....it obviously leans left but it's still a good show so I've continued to watch the series for a few years now.
Storyline....VP has to undergo emergency surgery, and the President's plane is missing with him on board. In order to have temporary presidential representation, they call in the "Speaker of the House" and not only tell him they have to swear him in, but they keep calling him "Senator" and that he needs to temporarily resign his position.
The 'pro tem' is the FOURTH in line and IS from the Senate....but the SPEAKER of the HOUSE is a CONGRESSMAN, NOT a Senator.
How could writers of such a program NOT do their homework and get it right?
