would be quite difficult, because Excel doesn't know what your parameters are.
I haven't used a scatter chart before but have just tested it using a quick temperature over time range, and using random temp values. The scatter chart just links all the points together. The chart looks like a side-on view of the Himalayas.
But the problem is, a line of best fit really depends on what your criteria is.
I really don't know a solution to this problem I'm afraid. Excel Help has some interesting ideas. If you look up the functions ''Trend'' or ''Linest'', or just type in ''Best fit'' into Excel help. But way above me.
How to make a graph from 2 sheets?
When you use the chart wizard and have selected your chart type, click Next will bring you to the ''Source data'' dialogue. Click the Series tab, and then click the Add under the Series window. You can add data from whatever source you wish here.
Sorry I can't help with the first problem. Perhaps someone else will be able to.
Good luck,
Mark
Hi everyone,
I have a few problems. In Excel, I have made two scatter graphs. On these scatter graphs, I need to put a line of best fit. I have searched but have not found it.
Also, How do you make a graph from 2 'sheets'? For example, If I had data in 'sheet 1', and data in 'sheet 2', is there a way to combine them in a scatter graph without making another sheet? If not, ill just make a new sheet and put the data in one place.
Thanks.
