If you can hear the noise on your phone, you can isolate it. Maybe. Take a phone outside to the SNI (Subscriber Network Interface) on the side of the house. Unplug the house phones from the connection in the box and plug your phone into the jack. If the noise is gone, the trouble is in the house. If it's still there, call the phone company. There is no charge if the trouble is outside.

use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.

Is there any way to check for "line noise" and fix it myself without the my phone company taking their time to look at it?
