See if the username has a folder under Documents and Settings using Windows Explorer. As well, if you are using the welcome screen, instead try pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the classic login window and type the username/password in manually to see if it's accepted.
Couple problems going on here..
First.. I gave my daughter my old IBM T40 laptop. I have an Admin level user still listed but my daughter's user acct, which I knocked down from Admin to Limited lvl, does not show up in the User Account folder. If I try to make a user with her name, it says "Already a user by that name choose another".. ok fine, but it still doesnt show up in the list.
To complicate things a little.. when it starts up, and I type in my user name (one other than hers), it hangs on the IBM Access Connections popup, saying "Connecting, please wait" and sits there until I shut it down or restart.
I can get in thru Safe Mode, but not Safe Mode/Networking, otherwise it sits there waiting. I cant find anyway to get in under Normal mode to make any changes, and if I go in thru her acct, she's the only one that shows up in User Accounts. So basically, she's the only user account showing when she signs in, and I'm the only user account listed when I sign in (SafeMode).
If I can get in thru Safe Mode and have her name listed, I can change her back to Admin lvl and should be able to make changes. Is there a way to do that thru Comand Prompt?
Thanks for any help!
