Your absolute best LCD's are going to come from Sharp and Samsung, as far as I've seen. The Aquos line is a very nice line of LCD's, but they command a high price tag. Roughly $2500 for the 32'' or $4,000 for the 37'' - keep in mind these are Best Buy prices, and you may be able to find them for less online.
If you're looking for an economical, but decent LCD, look for a Westinghouse 27'' - 32''. Their refresh rates aren't going to be what a Sharp or Samsung have, but their price tags aren't the same either; ~$1,000 for 27 & ~$1,600 for 32''.
I have a 27" analog Sony CRT TV that I purchases last fall for $400. It has the best picture quality of most analog TVs, and I really like it. The only problem is that is weighs over 100 lbs., and I am a college student so I live in an apartment and have to move my stuff in and out. Moving this TV is difficult for me and I am thinking about upgrading to digital anyway.
So, can anyone recommend to me a more lightweight TV, such as a flat panel of some sort? I don't need it to be huge.. probably no larger than 36" since thats really all I need. I was looking at a 32" Samsung LCD TV online.
