I own a Nikon Coolpix L100. Could anyone help me out in editing the light effects after capturing the image?
I don't know what sort of effect is that? But it is used for the street lights and the other light producing elements.
It would be in the form of the rays {shiny}. just like a star!!

This can be done by using Adobe Photoshop:

You can get the star-burst effect when taking photos at night if you use dark aperture (f/8 or f/16) settings. That may be hard to do with the Nikon L100 because you can not directly adjust the aperture setting.
