Light Blue Streak in Middle of Screen

I picked up my computer today in a lazy way with my thumb on the screen of my laptop and now I have a blue streak going down the middle of my computer, it is always there. I have tried restarting my computer but that did nothing. Is there anyway to get this streak to go away or do I need a new screen?

hardware problem?

Did you break the screen when you picked your laptop up in a lazy way? Hope you have a warranty.

nothing looks broken

My screen looks the same as always... No cracks or anything but it does have this blue streak that is constantly in the middle of my screen no matter what I am doing.

Damage results

many laptop LCDs are made form a film or matrix that's very flexible and can be prone to damage. The connections, actual make-up and light weight aren't made to be roughly handled or impacted in some way. You either broke some minor connection or crushed an area that effects the line(s) of display. There's really nothing you can do, may "massage it" but usually nothing other tha physical replacement. Warranty may not cover it, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
