lifespan of Samsung laptops?

by samteeter93 / March 26, 2011 1:57 AM PDT

Hello. I'm currently shopping for a college laptop, and I'm debating between a MacBook Pro and this new Samsung machine, the QX410. The computers are pretty balanced in terms of features, and I could go either way on the operating system. My question: does anyone know how long these Samsung computers usually last? I usually think of Samsung as a pretty reliable maker, but then again I'm not really familiar with their computers so much as phones and other devices. Macs, on the other hand, are legendary for their durability. Can anyone weigh in?

The life span of any device is largely based on how carefully you treat it. We could discuss parts and manufacturing (well, actually I'm quite limited on how much I can discuss!), but also worth considering is the cost of the items you're comparing.

I don't believe in putting down the competition. I certainly don't have to for the sake of a sale. That said, is really is more of a decision based on the operating system that you'll most likely give the most benefit out of, and which you believe to be the best value for yourself.

I think the Samsung notebooks are a great value. Compared with a different OS and proprietary company and those comparisons - that's truly best determined by you.
