lifechat zx6000 Headset/mic and win xp

tried to install a lifechat wireless zx6000 to my win xp sp3 desktop. installed software and plugged reciever into usb2 port. computer recognizes as xbox360 wireless device.
tried to use on skype but computer doesnt show device under audio on either speakers or microphone.
Bought two of these and no problem on a windows vista laptop. automatically connects to this pc.
I tried updating drivers and uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.

Tell more about updating drivers.

We know that "Update Driver" button in Windows is dead. Tell more.

after updateing life chat program online,my xp computer still didn't recognise that I had a wireless headset or microphone on my audio control panel. Does any anyone out there have this same problem ??

But you didn't answer my question about how you update the audio drivers. It wasn't in the form of a question so I'll be more blunt.

What is this desktop make and model?
What audio system does it have?
What driver version is installed?

Sorry about the mis comm. What I meant to say was that I installed the lifechat program from cd and then updated it online.

I have a Dell Dimention 5110 with creative Tech LTD Soundmax Integrated Digital Audio driver. ver. 5.10.00.3614

Intel Celeron CPU 2.53 GHZ

Found the issue... the headset device is bad. My Daughter happened to have an XBOX 360 headset of the same type and it sync'd up just fine with my receiver. thanks for your assistance..
Will have to try and deal with warranty now ..

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
