AVG email support responded quicker than i expected..
Nov 13, 2009 7:42PM PST

i sent an email to customer support.. around 5.28 AM eastern time.. then got an email at 5.30 am est.. it was just a email letting me know they received my email.. and they were working on the problem.. it was probably and automated robo email.. then at 5.44 am est.. i received a 2nd email that solved my problems..

basically what happened is .. when i installed my disk.. it had v8.5.. then when I upgraded to 9.0.. it got a new license number.. but i didnt know what the last 4 characters were for the new license.. it wasnt shown in the license tab on the avg program.. so they sent me the entire license number.. now i have my desktop/laptop protected..

THX FOR THE HELP TECH SUPPORT.. the email process was much quicker than expected.. 16 mins.. when i call other companies on the phone.. it sometimes takes longer than that.. the cable company being the worstGrin

AVG has offered to resolve the issue if I pay them for premium service!

Hello DakRon5105,

The problem continues...........
Jul 20, 2011 1:34AM PDT

AVG had me delete some registry entries and re-enter the key they providers. It did not fix the problem. I am still getting the popup screen over and over again telling me that my license number has changed and I am still getting a License Number: Not Activated. At least they got back to me and did not ask to be paid to fix the faulty software they sold me. I am sending this to PCWorld Magazine for their help in resolving this problem. I just wish that I could get my $75 bucks back and move on to another AV program. Ron
