OKAY SO.
LG live chat screwed me over so I'm here now. I've been trying to set up my home theater system and I finally got the red and white aux cords I need. plugged them in to my system and to my TV and--, that's it. Im not sure if I'm missing a step or something but I can't hear the TV sound out of my Blu-ray theater speakers. the speakers still play sound from the Blu-ray system it's self but not from my TV. I really need help. I've been at this for an hour now.

What TV?

The majority of TVs I see do not use the red white jacks on the TV to output sound. You must check your TV's manual to see where it puts out the sound and what menu item to turn that on.

I'm not sure of the middle number but on the back it has next to it's HDMI ports 2 aux ports labeled audio. I'll try to consult a manual but this is a pawn shop TV so that may take some time.

update: next to model number it states " model No.: VIZIO VW32L HDTV40A
120V~, 2.6A, 50/60Hz"

Manual shows the TV uses those for input, not output.

I'm buying a new TV soon so this won't be much of a problem then.

The only audio out I found on that model

Was Optical. A few tips.

1. Some cables with caps on the ends of the optical cable. Be sure to remove them.
2. The TV and receiver setup is sometimes not obvious.
3. Many TVs do not pass audio if the source is HDMI and quite a few will not downconvert HDMI HD Audio to pass over optical. It's sort of a messy area so be ready to dive in and try setting HDMI sources to output Stereo or PCM.
