lg vx 8100

I am 14 years old and just wondering if the lg vx 8100 would be a good phone. I will have to carry it to school everyday . I am not really that conserned about the mp3 player and stuff like that, but is the camera/video as bad as the reviews say ? But my number one concern is , is the 8100 a good phone considering my situation? If you have any advice I would really appritiate it.
