General discussion

LG vs. Sony

Aug 31, 2008 11:29AM PDT

For a long time I have been wanting to buy a Sony Bravia XBR LCD (40-46"). However, I have recently seen some LGs that have awesome pictures. Does anyone know if there is any LCD by LG or any other brand that can compete with the Sony Bravia XBR price/picture quality.

AVOID LG
Sep 6, 2008 5:16AM PDT

Everyone is right avoid LG.

The Samsung 550 series looks better than the new xbr6. I just purchase a 32" 550 for my bedroom and now I want to sell my LNT4661 in the livingroom and buy a 46" 550.

The 630 is even better with a matte screen but being new it's 1,819
at AMAZON, if that is in your price range check it out at circuit City along with the 550.

I would agree

if this was 2005, but the 2008 models are getting very good.

they still cant beat a samsung, pioneer, or panasonic, but they are right behind them.

they have a 42PG20 that is under the 1.000 mark that will almost beat any thing in that price, with picture quality and options.

the only thing that I dont know about is the reliablity of the new model.
I havent seen any problems yet, but Im still not sure.
