Question

LG TV wifi speaker

Nov 28, 2016 5:29AM PST

I have an LG 42LE5400 TV and want to add a remote speaker , preferably wifi or blutooth.
Is this possible and if so how.
I want to avoid cabling.

- What sound output does this TV have (headphone jack, hdmi, digital sound)?
- Can you provide a link to the user manual?

Answer
I looked over the TV manual

But found no indication of WiFi or Bluetooth speaker support.

Since I wanted the maker's manual I went to http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-42LE5400

On page 47 of the English manual today I read "AUDIO OUT CONNECTION" but that's optical and to get to wireless will require a few parts. That's been discussed before (optical to analog then analog to some audio bluetooth transmitter.)

But on page 48 there is some hope. The wireless audio feature is OPTIONAL so ask the place who sold this or at LG.com using the phone or chat if your model can use the setup noted on page 48.
